Instructions and Assignment attached.Build-a-Government

For your congressional debate assignment, you will be writing bills to become laws.
– Before you make your own laws, you will consider the necessary laws and their consequences in both dystopian and utopian fictional societies.
– There are 5 main sections of each society for which you must create at least 3 policies / laws to build the foundation of your society.
You must then explain why your policy/law makes your society a dystopia or utopia.

Dystopia: state or society in which there is great suffering or injustice, typically one that is totalitarian or post-apocalyptic.

Utopia: an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect.

Each of the sections should involve the following:

Economy: Relating to the ways in which society makes money, the way in which society spends money, the way in which money is regulated, and the ways in which citizens are taxed.

Social Services: Relating to the services the government provides to assist the poor, disabled, or otherwise vulnerable groups; education; the armed forces; regulations in the workplace; and children and families.

Environment: Relating to the ways in which society regulates construction and development, energy sources, environmental conservation, issues regarding animals, and issues of recycling and sustainability.

Justice System: Relating to the court system, prison sentence, correctional systems and prisons, political regulation, and political elections.

Public Health and Saftey: Relating to the department of public saftey such as the police and fire departments, social health and wellness issues, illegal or banned substances, automotive restrictions and saftey, and medical regulation.

Dystopia

Here you will build a dystopia using the definition above. For each section, you will provide at least 3 policies/ laws which would make your society a dystopia.
– You must then explain why your policy/law makes your society a dystopia.

Example:

Economy:
